Masaru Ihara

Masaru Ihara has been General Manager at Houston Office of Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC) since June 2005.
His 24 years of experience with JOGMEC and Japan National Oil Corporation (JNOC) have included offshore technology, two-phase flow in pipes, horizontal well performance evaluation, and GTL. As a production engineering specialist, Ihara was seconded to Zakum Development Company (ZADCO), which operates a giant oil field (Upper Zakum) offshore Abu Dhabi of UAE from 1995 till 1999.
Ihara holds BS and PhD degrees from the U. of Tokyo and an MS degree from the U. of Tulsa, all in petroleum engineering.
