Gizem Ersoy graduated from Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering Department of Middle East Technical University (METU) in first place. During her study as an undergraduate, she completed her internships in International Oil Projects Department of Turkish Petroleum Company (TPAO) and in General Petroleum Oil Company in Egypt. She also holds a minor degree on European Studies from the International Relations Department of METU.

She got her MS degree from the University of Tulsa in December 2005. She worked on  heavy oil-water emulsions at TUCORE Offshore Heavy Oil Project. Her thesis title is “Modeling of Inversion Point and Assessment of Heavy Oil-Water Emulsion Viscosity Correlations. Recently she is pursuing her PhD. Degree in Multiphase Flow in Hilly-Terrain pipelines within the University of Tulsa Fluid Flow Projects.
