Research Area - Gas/Oil/Water Flow in Pipes
A major unsolved multiphase flow problem is predicting flow behavior when water is present in pipes producing and transporting gas and hydrocarbon liquids. The objectives of this research area are to: 1) collect high quality experimental data under different three-phase flow conditions, 2) develop and verify a three-phase unified model based on experimental measurements (observations) and theoretical analyses, and 3) develop relevant closure relationships. Several TUFFP ongoing projects are considered part of this project line.
